FAQ
What is roof pitch?
Roof pitch is how steep your roof is — measured as rise over run.
It's written as a ratio like 6/12. That means for every 12 inches the roof runs horizontally, it rises 6 inches vertically. 3/12 is a low, flatter roof. 12/12 is very steep — a 45-degree angle.
Why does roof pitch matter for your cupola?
We use your roof pitch to build the base of your Signature Series cupola so it sits perfectly level on your roofline. A steep roof needs a taller, more angled base; a low-pitch roof needs a shorter shallower base.
Our all-metal cupolas feature a user adjustable base with common pitches laser etched in the base for easy adjustment in the field.
How can I find my roof pitch?
Roof pitch can be determined in several ways. Our preferred method is taking a picture of the gable end of your building and submitting it to us. It is important to be far enough from the building to get a good perspective of the angle- we recommend taking a photo 50'-100' from the gable end of building. Our team uses advanced tools to analyze your photo and get an accurate pitch to build your custom cupola!
